The creative industry continues to bloom and progress forwards in terms of profit, growth and opportunity for creatives.

It’s no surprise that the creative industries combined contributed a record breaking £91.8 billion to the UK economy in 2016 (official statistics show).

In the same year, sub-sectors within the creative industry grew their economic contribution by 44.8%, that’s more than a quarter of a billion pounds per day to the UK – big numbers that are only going to get bigger!

Britain’s creative industries play an essential role shaping how we are seen around the world but as these new statistics show they are also a vital part of the economy.”

“The sector is now one of our fastest growing industries and continues to outperform the wider UK economy. This is a testament to the talent and drive of its workforce and we are working closely with them to make sure this fantastic success continues.”

Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

Employment figures are also hugely on the rise, with the creative industries employing 2 million people in the UK alone in 2015.

Don’t worry, we won’t dive in to the stats too much, we’ll let the visual do the talking.
