Here are just a few of the self publishers we have helped over the recent months:
In 2015 we we on the look out for a very special illustrator to bring our new concept book to life. Luckily for us we found Adam and the Big Red Illustration Agency. After winning a ‘draw off’, Adam got to work straight away. We particularly liked that Adam quickly became an integral member of our team helping with the planning and concept development. Adam is the consummate professional. He totally got what we were trying to achieve and equally importantly understood the importance of hitting our Christmas soft launch date (which candidly was an unfair ask of Adam). Adam ended up working really long hours for a prolonged period to help ensure we were ready – meeting literally every deadline agreed. Most importantly – with almost 1,000 pages of illustrations he never compromised on quality. Every single page was clearly a question of professional pride for Adam and for that we are hugely grateful.
Now having sold many thousands of copies all around the world (48 countries and counting) we remain indebted to Adam and have no hesitation in endorsing his work and really hope that we get to work with him again in the future. A genuine joy to work with.
When I made the choice to bring my book to life by choosing an illustrator, it felt very personal. I was looking for someone who could really bring my vision to life and cope with my ‘colourful character’. I looked online and called a few people, but when I spoke to Adam at Big Red Illustration, he took the time to really understand my needs and what I wanted. He has a fantastic way of really focusing on what I wanted and what my vision was with such a great sense of humour as well. Adam is so talented at what he does it’s incredible, he has blown me away with his work on ‘Ganesh finds his groove’. He is very efficient at responding to changes and is very helpful with any queries or concerns I had. Bringing a book to life is a long process and it has taken many years working alongside another business and a family. Thank you Adam for your patience, kindness and moreover humour through a process that could potentially be fairly stressful, and making it a pleasure. I am thrilled with the outcome. Thank you xxxx.
Director and Author
“I found The Big Red Illustration Agency online and knew instantly that I wanted Adam to illustrate my ‘William Finds’ books. I am so pleased that he agreed to breathe life into my stories and am absolutely thrilled with the final outcome.
The whole process of working with Adam has been an absolute joy. He listened carefully to what I wanted and we communicated frequently via email and through telephone conversations. Adam ensured he was clear on what I wanted and always double-checked his pencil drawings with me before starting to colour in. He was patient when I needed a bit more time to make a decision and used his initiative when overcoming problems.
I found the pricing of each illustration to be fair. Adam was prompt to produce the final product but never to the detriment of a drawing and it is obvious that he always puts maximum effort into each page.
The illustrations for the ‘William Finds’ collection are truly beautiful. Children are immediately drawn to the appealing colours and the images match the gentle message in each story.
Overall, Adam has been really enthusiastic and supportive throughout the whole project. He has been the most amazing person to work with and I won’t hesitate to work with Adam again if the opportunity arises.
…Adam, you have taken my meagre pencil sketches and turned them into such beautiful illustrations – the way you have brought William’s world to life is remarkable and exactly what I had in my head, no, it’s even better!! Thank you so much.”
